Baked Feta with Olives and Tomatoes – A Flavor-Packed Party Favorite

  • Author: Katty

Description

This baked feta with olives and tomatoes is the ultimate Mediterranean appetizer—warm, creamy, and packed with flavor. A block of feta is roasted alongside sweet cherry tomatoes, briny olives, and garlic, then finished with fresh herbs and served with crusty bread. It’s a one-dish wonder that’s perfect for entertaining or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block of feta cheese (about 7 oz)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ cup pitted olives (green, Kalamata, or a mix)
  • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Crusty bread or pita, for serving

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C)

Place the feta block in the center of a small baking dish

Surround the feta with halved cherry tomatoes, olives, and sliced garlic

Drizzle olive oil over the feta and vegetables, then sprinkle with dried oregano and black pepper

Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the feta is soft and golden on top, and the tomatoes have released their juices

Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped fresh basil or parsley

Serve warm with crusty bread or pita for dipping

Notes

  • Always use a block of feta, not crumbled

  • For best results, bake in a small, snug dish so the ingredients roast together

  • Feel free to add extra herbs or spice for a customized version

  • Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor

  • Leftovers can be turned into a pasta sauce or grain bowl topping
